Your server sits behind our own network: French facilities, our transit and our peering, with volumetric filtering in front of every port. This section covers what you can change yourself, what you request from us, and what remains your configuration on the machine.
What is on our side
- The uplink and its speed, unmetered on the port of your configuration.
- Volumetric anti-DDoS filtering, active from day one on every server.
- Transit and peering, including direct sessions at France-IX and DE-CIX.
- Reverse DNS delegation for the addresses attached to your service.
What is on yours
- The addressing on the machine: interfaces, routes, additional IP addresses.
- Inbound filtering. Nothing blocks your ports except the firewall you configure.
- Application-layer defence for your own services: rate limits, timeouts, caching.
Checking the network from outside
Our looking glass at lg.bullionet.com shows the return path from our network to yours. It answers the question a traceroute from your desk cannot: whether a problem is upstream of us, in our network, or on the server.
